Woman finds savage texts about her on mother-in-law’s phone

A mum has been left fuming after finding scathing texts about her on her mother-in-law’s phone.

To make matters worse, the woman is on holiday with her mother-in-law, her husband and her five-year-old son at the moment.

Taking to Mumsnet, the mum explained that she has no signal on her phone, so asked her mother-in-law if she could call her own mum and wish her a happy birthday.

However, just as she was about to make the call, a message from her sister-in-law came through on the phone, saying: ‘I am glad the stupid b**** is not spoiling it this year for you all’.

Obviously, the mum was curious, so she decided to check the rest of the messages and it became very clear they were all about her.

“Thank god the fits have ‘stayed away’ this year” and “the lazy cow is pulling her weight this year” were just some of the words her mother-in-law wrote about her.

The replies from her sister-in-law were just as bad, with the mum seeing messages like: “It’s his fault he knew when he marriages her she had them” and “don’t know how he puts up with her”.

The mum explained that she suffers from epilepsy and last year when they all went away on holiday, she suffered from quite a few seizures for a few days.

“I don’t know what to do. I felt so guilty last year and mother-in-law and father-in-law kept saying ‘it’s ok’ and ‘don’t worry you can’t help it’,” the woman wrote on Mumsnet.

“I now know mother-in-law was prob slagging me off to all in sundry about her wrecked holiday.”

The mum asked for advice on whether she should tell her husband or wait until they get home from their holiday.

People were quick to console the woman in the comment section with some calling her -in-law’s ‘a pair of witches’.

“This is awful! I don’t think I would be able to wait until I got home to confront her! You need to at some point though because this is really bad,” one person said.

“I would tell her I saw the text and go icy cold. How dare she sit and slag you off on such a two-faced way,” another person said.

However, others didn’t agree with the woman ‘snooping’ through her mother-in-law’s phone.

“You should not have checked her phone regardless. I think I will be in the minority here but I believe we are all entitled to our own private thoughts,” one commenter said.
