Despite veganism becoming increasingly popular it can still be difficult to order at restaurants, which is what happened to the 19-year-old in Fuengirola, near Malaga on the Costa del Sol.

“A member of staff came out to greet us and my dad asked if they catered for vegans. The man claimed they did,” Georgina’s sister Gabbie told The Mirror.

She originally ordered the vegetarian pizza without cheese but after being told that it contains eggs opted for the safest bet – a salad.

Turns out it wasn’t safe at all!

“When it arrived, me and Georgina shared awkward eye contact and I couldn’t help but laugh,” her sister continues.

The salad wasn’t a salad at all. It was a plate of tomatoes and raw onion. That’s it. Two ingredients. Not even any dressing.

Gabbie shared the images to twitter with the caption “this was my sisters amazing vegan meal” and it’s since gone viral with over 55,000 likes and 14,000 retweets.

Luckily Georgina is used to eating raw veggies and she was hungry so she finished all her ‘salad’. But not before ordering a side of bread, without butter, to salvage the meal.

They had paid almost $13 for it after all.
