Delta Goodrem's role as Olivia Newton-John met with mixed reactions
No matter who takes on the challenge of playing the role of Olivia Newton-John, people will definitely have a lot to say about you.
That’s exactly what happened for Delta Goodrem after the premiere of the ONJ TV biopic last night, Olivia: Hopelessly Devoted To You.
Many viewers took to social media to express their opinions on the Channel Seven movie.
Some praised Delta’s performance.
i've already teared up watching olivia just from hearing delta sing

However, others weren’t so quick to praise Delta’s performance of Olivia.
One viewer said there was a bit of a “disconnect” with The Voice judge playing the role of Olivia.
Watching #Olivia now. Not hating but the young actress could have been Olivia the whole film. When I see Delta I see Delta – i dont see Olivia. Its too much of a disconnect for me.

Another called Delta a “distraction to the story”.
Delta is a distraction to the story. Should never have cast her. #Olivia

It appears for some Delta’s performance in the biopic prompted a campaign for the 33-year-old to perform at Eurovision next year.
Fully expecting Delta to sing at #EUROVISION next year. Not sure who else we’ve got? #Olivia

Now, we’d love to see that.
