"We've had a terrible few months since Cathriona's death. There's been death threats and angry letters," he says.

"We're just glad it's reached a conclusion and that the truth has finally come out."

Shortly after White was found dead, her mother Brigid was forced to issue a statement denying she was to blame for her daughter's suicide.

"There's a story saying I sent Cathriona an email on her birthday nine days before she died, calling her a failure. I don't know who would say such lies, but this never, ever happened. I am devastated people would say this.

"From the moment she was born, I cherished her. Calling her a failure is never something I would never have done. It's an awful thing to say to anyone, let alone your own child."

Contents of her suicide note were revealed just months after her passing.

"I've spent 3 days now in disbelief that you're not here. I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don't have the will this time," she penned.

"I'm sorry you felt I wasn't there for you. I tried to give you my best part."

Jim Carrey dated White dated on and off for three years, starting in 2012, and White died from a drug overdose last September, aged 30, after the couple split.

The comedian served as a pallbearer at her funeral last October in Ireland.

Following the funeral service, Carrey tweeted an image of the two in silhouette, writing, “Love cannot be lost” alongside a symbol of a rose.
