Has the Masterchef winner accidentally been revealed?

Masterchef contestant Matt Sinclair shared an image to Instagram from the Regional Flavours Launch in Brisbane.

“On a production break,” he captioned the snap. “Absolutely stoked to be in my home town at Brisbane Regional Flavours, stumbled across a familiar face.”

Fans were quick to comment on the post that he seemed to be the only contestant from this season in attendance. Yep, it’s a stretch – but hear us out…

One user suggested that Matt being snapped with last year’s runner-up Georgia Barnes could determine his place in the competition.

“The runner up last year and the winner for this year,” one fan wrote. “Go Matt!”

“I thought the Masterchef program’s pre-recorded,” another wrote. “And this is the current festival. Does this mean @mat_sinclair won masterchefau already? I didn’t see any other contestant here in the festival.”

Sure, he might just be there as a punter, but then he shared another promotional snap from the event.

The other image shows him filming a cross for Network Ten, which caused a few more followers to quiz his status on the show.

“First ever live TV weather,” Matt wrote alongside the snap below. “At #regionalflavours on our production break. Been in front of a camera for a while now, still get so nervous.”

While some said this additional post was a clear “giveaway” that he’d won the series, others started questioning whether or not he actually knows his fate.

“It’s either he wins or he got eliminated tomorrow,” one fan wrote. “I hope not.”

Another added: “Everything is pre recorded. This obviously means he won?”

Well, technically not. The series was shot a few months ago, but the contestants don’t tend to know whether they’ve won until the season finale actually airs.

News Corp reported back in April that Masterchef records alternate endings where contestants are given fake scores and feedback. But only the real scores actually go to air.

Guess we’ll find out the truth soon enough!
