Pics: Karl Stefanovic's digs post-split

As rumours continue to swirl that Karl Stefanovic has split from his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn, new reports suggest the Today Show host is staying with fellow journalist brother Pete and future-sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys.

With Karl reportedly moving out of the family home he shared with Cassandra and their three children Jackson, Ava and River, he is believed to be staying with newly engaged Pete and Sylvia in their luxury four-bedroom home in Sydney's east.

Pete and Sylvia purchased the townhouse for $2.7 million earlier this year before getting engaged in July.

The townhouse features two master-sized bedrooms with balconies, two bathrooms and a private backyard terrace with a water feature wall. It was on the market for 44 days before the couple, who also join Karl on Today snapped it up.

It was previously believed that Karl was staying with best friend James Packer in the billionaire's Bondi apartment or with cameraman brother Tom following the shock split.

There were also reports that Karl and Cassandra had intended to upgrade their Lindfield home on the Upper North Shore and closed a deal on a $7 million harbour-front property before they separated.

"He was very serious about the new house, it was a big upgrade to what they have been living in and Cass was all for it, so news that they are breaking up really has come out of the blue," a family friend told Private Sydney.

On Monday, New Idea reported it has been Sylvia who has allegedly stepped in to beg Karl to end his partying ways and fight for his marriage.

The publication added Sylvia and Pete are hoping Karl and Cassandra will reconcile, and they're doing "everything they can to help him fix his marriage."
