Jim Carrey denies STD claims, says ex married another man behind his back

The latest news floating around about Jim Carrey’s late ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, will leave you shocked.

Responding to a wrongful death lawsuit filed against him by Cathriona's family, the actor has provided the court with documents and a written declaration claiming he and Cathriona “were very much in love,” and that he did not give her STDs.

Among photos of the pair and Cathriona’s suicide notes written over the years, Jim revealed his ex got married behind his back while they were dating.

“Between 2012 and 2015, I was involved in two romantic relationships with Cathriona White,” he wrote.

While the 54-year-old states they were broken up for a brief period during this time, he said they got back together in 2014 and were an item until her death.

According to his statement, Jim claims his Irish girlfriend raised the idea of marriage in late 2012 but The Mask star said he wasn’t ready, and a few months later he found out she had wedded Mark Burton in Las Vegas

“To my surprise, I later learned that in January 2013 Cat married a man in Las Vegas for her green card, while at the same time maintaining her actual relationship with me,” the Canadian-born actor said.

“I never met her green card husband Mark Burton until after Cat's death, nor did Cat discuss with me any details of her marriage to him while she was alive.

“Nor did she ever tell me that she had a wedding or that she had ever been courted by Mr. Burton and she never wore a wedding ring,” stated Jim.

“Cat was regularly with me at my home in January 2013 and I was supporting her financially, and we were very much in love,” Jim said, clueless at the time to the fact that she was married.

The Me, Myself & I star also revealed he noticed Cat had become “aggravated” with him during the week leading up to her suicide because he was spending lots of time with his sick daughter in hospital who had to undergo “emergency surgery.”

Cat’s mother, Brigid Sweetman, has been accusing Jim for being responsible for her daughter’s death.

He denies ever giving her an STD or pills and said in a statement after her death: “Cat's troubles were born long before I met her and sadly her tragic end was beyond anyone's control.

“I really hope that someday soon people will stop trying to profit from this and let her rest in peace.”
