Kate Fischer: “You don’t need to be skinny to be sexy”

She had no intention of returning to the spotlight after seeing recent paparazzi pictures of her, but Kate Fischer couldn't turn down New Idea’s revealing lingerie shoot, sending the message to women that: “You don’t need to be skinny to be sexy.”

The curvy beauty now goes by the name Tziporah Malkah after embracing her Jewish faith and lives a life vastly different to the high flying one she lived 20 years ago with ex fiance James Packer.

"Ok, at the moment I'm fat! Get over it!" the former model-actress told New Idea magazine.

Looking healthy and happy in her skin, Tziporah jumped at the idea of doing the sexy spread inspired by Vogue Italia’s plus-size spread to inspire women to love their bodies no matter what size they are.

“I'm in no way condoning being overly fat - it's not healthy, nor is being underweight for that matter. Im six foot tall (1.83m) and I once weighed 58 kilos - ridiculous! But I am saying we all should be more accepting of people’s beauty in all shapes and sizes,” the 42-year-old said.

Tziporah uploaded images of the original Vogue Italia June issue to her Facebook page, which features plus-size models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley leaning over plates of spaghetti in their lingerie.

“I’d posted them to remind followers how beautiful a plus-sized woman can be. It’s important woman of all ages and shapes know they still have a place and a voice.”

“So if I can inspire other women by doing a shoot like this myself, then great! she said.

Once Australia’s 90s IT girl, Tizporah now spends her days studying nursing part-time and working night shifts at an aged care home.

“Life is much more rewarding now,” she said.

“I wish I’d done this kind of geriatric psych work years ago,” she said.

The brunette who has been residing for five years in a small apartment in Melbourne’s Toorak, lived in Los Angeles for 15 years prior, where she pursued her acting career and taught meditation after splitting from James.

“James cast a long shadow even from that distance,” Tziporah said, having never been able to shake his name from hers.

When she returned to Australia, the Sirens film star thought everyone had moved on and she began living her new life out of the limelight in peace, until one day unflattering pap pics surfaced of her wrapped in a sheet and in mismatched pyjamas.

“Initially I was shocked. But then I got so much support from people, it was really heartening. Really, why would anyone feel ashamed about how they look when photographed without their knowledge?” she said.

“I’m older, wiser and too tired to trip down a red carpet!”

While Tziporah has no desire to pick up her previous lavish lifestyle, she took to Facebook to explain to her followers why she had changed her mind about being a public figure and opted for the lingerie shoot.

“Well. I’ve done something that no woman has ever done before or will ever do since: change my mind!” she wrote.

“As “Kate” I had a zillion minutes of fame but as Tziporah I reckon that this is my 15…. So why not do something that helps people within this tiny time frame? There is always opportunity within crisis.”

When asked what message she’d tell her young self: “Don’t drop out of school, study to so something worthwhile - and don’t go round kissing goannas hoping they’ll become princes!”
