Bachelor Richie explains why he still hasn't met Alex's son

It’s been six weeks since The Bachelor couple made their love public and there’s still no signs as to when Alex will introduce her son Elijah to Richie.

If Richie was the one, then you’d think Alex wouldn’t hesitate to bring the two boys together - which raises questions about the couple - is there trouble in paradise?

Richie explained to The Daily Telegraph the pair are still “working on” a meeting and have no plans to move in with each other any time soon.

“We want to do it in the right way in our own time so it is something that we are working on," the 31-year-old said.

Alex recently told TV Week Richie has only met Elijah via FaceTime but that her five-year-old son is already besotted with her beau.

“Every time Richie calls or I’m on the phone he says ‘Can I talk to Richie?’” Alex told the magazine.

But despite their virtual meeting, Richie reveals he has been super busy and the pair don't yet feel the time is right.

“I haven’t met him (in person) as of yet. It is difficult in that Alex spent time with me in Perth straight after the show, which was fantastic and from that she has been back in Melbourne and I’ve had other engagements as well so it has been really hard for us all to get together and say g’day,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

“With Elijah, that is something he needs to be integrated into a little slower. I think moving in together straight away would be a little too much for the little fella. Things like that shouldn’t be rushed."

Despite taking that part of their life slow, Alex told the publication the pair are still very much in their honeymoon phase.

“We are having the time of our life,” she said. “We are just enjoying each other; it has been amazing actually.”

Despite Richie spending heaps of time with Alex in Melbourne, the rope access technician saiid he has things he needs to do in Perth before making any decisions about moving to live closer to the mum-of-one.

"Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. There are a lot of things I’ve got to tie up in Perth but I’ve got a plan in place."

But when Richie does make the move to be with Alex and Elijah in Melbourne: "I will probably be over there all the bloody time,” he said speaking of Alex's home and spending time with the little fella.
