Harry's girl Meghan is mates with Home And Away's Pia

Prince Harry has officially confirmed he’s dating Suits actress Meghan Markle.

And the American beauty has an unexpected connection to Australia - she’s mates with Home And Away star Pia Miller.

Yep, the unlikely duo hinted at their friendship on Instagram back in May, when Meghan shared an inspirational quote along with a message dedicated to 33-year-old Pia. .

"When @piamiller sends you some #foodforthought Brilliant one, my friend – thanks for sharing. You are both entertaining and impressive. Xx (sic)," wrote the star, who is famed for her role as Rachel Zane on US drama Suits.

Aussie stunner Pia replied straight back, writing "word" in the comments section, along with a love heart emoji.

Like Meghan, Aussie stunner Pia is a small screen sensation, playing Katarina Chapman on Channel Seven’s Home And Away.

Meanwhile, last night Prince Harry took the unusual move of confirming his romance with Meghan, whilst reprimanding trolls for targeting his new lady love.

Issued via Kensington Palace, the lengthy statement explains how Meghan, who is described as “his girlfriend” of a few months, has reportedly been suffering a torrent of abuse, including sexist and racist comments.

“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” the statement says. “This is not a game - it is her life and his.”

“He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done.”

Publicly speaking out about a new relationship is an unusual move for a royal, however, sources say there was a very real level of threat, and that some individuals even tried to get into her home illegally.
