Kris Smith says 'single life is hard'

He confirmed his split with Maddy King just last month.

But while Kris Smith has been keeping up appearances on the social circuit, he’s struggling with the breakup more than he's letting on.

Speaking to Be at Hublot’s All Black – 10 Years Anniversary Celebration in Sydney, the 38-year-old admitted: “Single life is hard”.

“It was sad," he said of the breakup. "It was really unfortunate but life takes different turns and you kind of roll with it.

“It was tough at first but I’ve been single before.”

Kris and 25-year-old model Maddy ended their four-year relationship, which initially blossomed after the hunk split with Dannii Minogue in 2012.

He shares six-year-old son Ethan with the Australian singer, and says he’s “always focused on fatherhood from day one”.

“From day one he’s been my number one. And he will be till the end of my days. He’s always come first,” told Be.

While Kris says he is “single and ready to mingle” and looking for a girl with a “good sense of humour”, there’s something else that his heart also desires.

“I’d love more kids. I just need someone to help me out,” he has told Manly Daily.
