Brad's 'heartbreak' for Chris Cornell's kids

He was devastated by the loss of his close friend, and now Brad Pitt has reacted to the release of photos showing where Chris Cornell died.

Earlier this week Detriot PD released graphic photographs of the hotel room where the 52-year-old Soundgarden frontman was found back in May, with sources close to Brad say he's "heartbroken" Chris' kids will see them.

"Brad saw the bloody pics of Chris’ room after his suicide and it was really painful. He’s still so, so sad about his friend’s death," an insider told HollywoodLife.com.

"It breaks his heart that they have to see those pics."

After Chris' death, the 53-year-old actor has been offering support to his widow Vicky and the couple's three children Lillian, 17, Toni, 12, and Christopher, 11, with Brad recently spotted taking the kids to Universal Studios for an outing.

"[Brad] is such a good friend and always reaches out to those kids to let them know he’s there for them if they need anything at all," the insider continued.

The father-of-six was reportedly "hit very hard" by the loss of his friend, with sources telling E! News at the time: “[Brad] is devastated and in shock.”

The pair had been friends for years and Brad joined Chris at a ROCK4EB! charity event in January.

Brad introduced Chris to the crowd saying: “I get to introduce a very, very good friend of mine and someone I’ve known for quite a while, and I’m a huger fan of, Mr Chris Cornell.”
