Aaron Carter cries, denies drinking during arrest

Aaron Carter has given an emotional interview detailing his version of events following his arrest over the weekend for DUI refusal, possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects.

Sitting down with Entertainment Tonight, the 29-year-old broke down as he explained what happened when police approached him and girlfriend Madison Parker in Habersham County, Georgia, revealing he hasn't been coping with the stress of the situation.

"Basically, I've been listening to America and Stevie Wonder and the OBrother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack," he told ET reporter Jennifer Peros.

Going into further detail, the I Want Candy singer said he and Madison had decided to buy a cheap car and drive to scheduled performances, saying his "severe anxiety" about flying stems from his first-hand experience watching the World Trade Centres get attacked on September 11 2001.

Admitting the vehicle they had purchased was a "lemon" and the doors wouldn't lock, Aaron told ET someone reported his driving to authorities in Georgia while he and Madison were en route to Alabama.

"Somebody said I was driving recklessly on the road, that's what the police report said, but the alignment was off on my car, so I went to AutoZone to see if I could do anything about it," he explained to the outlet.

"A motorcyclist reported that I was swerving all over the road, but the alignment was off a little bit on the new tire."

Aaron continued, claiming authorities became physical and they "grabbed him" in the AutoZone.

"[They] forcefully grabbed me out. [I] stepped outside. I say, 'I invoke the right to speak to my attorney,' and they disregarded that, they revoked that immediately. They said, 'Is there anything illegal in the car?' I said, 'I have marijuana in the car.'"

The former child star refuted claims he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, despite admitting to having marijuana in the car, saying he has a medical condition that prevents him from drinking aside from the "ocassional" sip of beer.

"I do not drink alcohol at all. I'll occasionally have a sip of a beer or something like that, but I can't even drink IPAs... I don't drink any hard liquor."

Revealing he and Madison had smoked "nine hours" before their arrest, Aaron also refuted reports he needed help for drug addiction and listed his medications saying he takes "Xanax, Propranolol for high blood pressure medication" and "oxycodones" for a mouth issue.

Earlier this week TMZ reported Aaron "refused a breathalyzer and testing of his blood and urine" when pulled over by police, while E!News reported Madison was charged with "possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects, as well as with obstruction of law enforcement officers."

While Aaron was released on bail on Sunday, Madison stayed behind bars.

Shortly after being released Aaron took to Twitter, claiming it was "celebrity" that made police officers "target him" in the bust.
