Bachelor’s Elise: ‘I got Matty J’d by Matty J’

The whole of Australia felt for Elise Stacy after Matty J broke her heart on the season finale of The Bachelor after he chose Laura Byrne over her.

What is funny though is that Elise’s time on The Bachelor this year very much resembles Matty’s time on The Bachelorette last year after Georgia Love broke his heart.

The 30-year-old also agreed herself that her story resembles Matty’s telling Be: “Yeah, Matty J Matty J’d me!”

“People have that to me the whole way though, ‘Oh your journey is very much like Matty’s.’ I’ve been having a little chuckle to myself saying, ‘You have no idea,’” Elise said.

Others on Twitter certainly noticed how similar Elise’s situation was to Matty’s too.

However, she has no plans to follow in Matty’s footsteps by signing up for The Bachelorette.

“Right now I can’t fathom doing that,” she admitted to Be. “I don’t think I’m the kind of person – knowing what I went through – take someone else through that.”

The marketing executive also said she didn’t like hearing Matty’s comments about knowing all along that Laura was “The One”.

“That hurts because he did ask me to be open and I was actually very sceptical of that fact. I asked him on our first date, ‘I’m fearful your heart is already taken.’ And he said, ‘No I give every opportunity to every girl,’” she told Be.

Not to worry though, Elise said she’s totally “over” Matty and “ready to move on”.
