Guy Sebastian: ‘Why Jules left me’

They have been married for nearly a decade and dated eight years before that but Guy Sebastian has revealed why his now-wife, Jules, briefly split with him.

The 35-year-old admitted on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show he was not a "gentleman" to Jules back in the day.

“She left me before,” he told the radio duo. “I was a rubbish boyfriend and I was never there.”

It seems Jules leaving him was the epiphany the singer needed to realise that he wasn’t being the best boyfriend.

“It took her breaking up with me to realise I was being a douche,” the former Australian Idol star added.

Back in July, Jules gushed about her husband telling Kyle and Jackie O her relationship with Guy was “true love”.

Guy and Jules tied the knot back in 2008 and have two sons together, Hudson and Archer.
