Aretha Franklin has confirmed she is "doing well" following a fake announcement that she had passed away.
The hashtag #RIPArethaFranklin started trending earlier this week following an announcement of the singer's death from a fake Aretha Franklin Twitter account.
“It Is With Sad News That We Announce the Passing Of The ‘Queen Of Soul’ Aretha Franklin 1942-2017 (sic),” the fake post said which sent many fans into a frenzy.

The 75-year-old confirmed to US Weekly she was doing fine and all is well with her.
"I'm doing well generally, all tests have come back good," she told the magazine.
"I've lost a lot of weight due to side effects of medicine, if affects your weight," the singer added in an email statement to the publication.
She also thanked everyone for their concern.
It is not the first time the legendary singer has had to face false rumours surrounding her health.
Six years ago the star was forced to deny she had pancreatic cancer after reading a report in a newspaper.
"I don't know where pancreatic cancer came from," she told Access Hollywood back in 2011.
"I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that," she added. "No one in my family ever said that to anybody."
Doesn't she deserve just a little bit of respect?
