Meghan Markle's Suits fiancé tells Prince Harry he is 'a lucky man'

Meghan Markle's Suits co-star and on-screen fiancé Patrick Adams has sent his congratulations to her following the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry.

The 36-year-old had sweet message for Meghan he posted on Instagram along with a photo of his on-screen love and also had a message for Prince Harry telling him he was "a lucky man".

"Playing Meghan’s television partner for the better part of a decade uniquely qualifies me to say this: Your Royal Highness, you are a lucky man and I know your long life together will be joyful, productive and hilarious," Patrick, who plays Michael Ross on the show, wrote.

"Meghan, so happy for you, friend. Much love," he added.

Meghan's on-screen dad, Wendell Pierce who plays Robert Zane in the show, posted a hilarious message on Twitter telling the prince he gave his "blessing" as the 36-year-old's TV father.

"Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement," Wendell wrote. "Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves."

Co-stars Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulse) also sent congratulatory messages.

Harry and Meghan's exciting news was announced via a statement from Prince Charles on Monday, that revealed the fifth in line to the throne actually proposed earlier this month.

A letter from Clarence House, the Prince of Wales’ residence, was released just after 9pm Australian time and says that Harry, 33, got down on one knee after asking 36-year-old Meghan’s parents for her hand.

In April this year, she shut down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, and stopped posting on her public Instagram page.

It's also been heavily speculated that she will be leaving her popular TV show Suits, at the end of season seven.
