SJP 'interested' in replacing Kim Cattrall for SATC3
Sarah Jessica Parker has not ruled out replacing Kim Cattrall for Sex and the City 3 and thinks Sharon Stone would be an "interesting" option.
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, SJP spoke about moving forward with the franchise, potentially with Sharon.
"I think you are not the first person who said that," SJP said. "I think it's a really interesting idea."
But she also said the cast needed to "grieve" about Kim's departure before any decisions were made.
"I think once everybody has thoroughly experienced the grieving process, then Michael Patrick King can go back and sort of ponder what he might want to do and how he might want to proceed," she said. "That's the most clear answer I've given yet."
The 52-year-old also expressed how "heartbroken" she was over her former co-star declaring she was "never friends" with her Sex and the City castmates, SJP, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.
"I found it very upsetting because that’s not the way I recall our experience," she explained. "It’s sad, but I always think that what ties us together was this singular experience. It was a professional experience, but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives, so I hope that eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken."
Just a couple of weeks ago, SJP appeared to hint SATC3 could go ahead without the presence of Samantha after Kim insisted she "didn't want to do a 3rd film" last year.
She posted suss clip on Instagram of a Sex and the City 3 t-shirt with Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda on it but no sign of Samantha.
In the caption the 52-year-old thanked Hilton Dresden, who made the tee, for the "amazing t-shirt".
By SJP posting this on social media, could this a sign the girls are moving forward as a trio for a potential SATC3?
Fans also noticed the move.
Guess we'll just need to watch this space.
