The Kardashians are in hot water for selling gold-sequined hot pants for toddlers

A pair of gold-sequined hot pants from the Kardashian Kids clothing line has landed Australian retailer Big W in hot water, after one mom found it stocked in their store.

She posted a message to Big W’s Facebook page calling the shorts “inappropriate for a little girl.”

“I don’t know if I’m getting old or something but theres [sic] no way I would buy these for any little girl in my family. I don’t know how or why Big W would sell these!” she wrote.

Her post quickly garnered support from other mums.

“I like the dresses but the crops and shorts I would NEVER put on Destiny Maree!” said one commenter. While another posted, “I just looked at them and walked out. I don’t get any clothes for bub from there anymore I don’t want to dress her as a teenager/adult! It’s kinda sad.”

Big W reached out to the mother for her contact details to further investigate her complaint, but the mom responded with, “ Thank you for your reply, but I don’t know why you need my details when there’s a pretty simple solution… Don’t sell inappropriate clothing for children.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time the Kardashian Kids line has upset shoppers.

A group of mothers in the United States successfully petitioned to remove the line from all Babies ‘R’ Us stores in October 2014.

This isn’t the first time Big W has been accused of selling inappropriate clothing for kids.

Another mom, Nikita Friedman, also took to Facebook earlier this year to call out the obvious difference between girls’ and boys’ shorts available at the retailer.

“Little girls shorts in a size 1 next to little boys shorts in a size 1. Why on earth does my 1 year old need to have shorts so short that her nappy is hanging out???” writes Friedman in a now-deleted Facebook post. “Little girls are not sex objects. Gender bias is disgusting.”
