$8 Aldi rosé named one of world’s best

Is there anything better than a deliciously cold glass of rosé? Knowing that the entire bottle cost you less than a tenner, that’s what.

In excellent news for the wine newbies and penny pinchers amongst us, the prestigious International Wine Challenge has just named some of the world’s best drops.

Budget supermarket chain and friend to everyone before payday, Aldi, took out the silver medal with their Exquisite Collection Côtes De Provence 2016 which costs just $8.

With the awards known as the Oscars of the wine world, the rosé beat out other expensive bottles.

“We have been working closely with renowned winemaker Jean Claude Mas to change perceptions around French wine, which is often perceived as expensive and intimidating, so it is fantastic to see some of these products acknowledged as some of the best in the world,” Tony Baines, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi told The Sun.

It’s not the only Aldi drop to wow judges either, with four of the supermarket’s sparkling wines nabbing awards.

If bubbles are more of your thing, keep an eye out for Lot 25 Prosecco, which retails at $17, as well as their Organic Prosecco which will set you back a mere $14.
