Kate Middleton’s engagement ring is worth the most
The next royal wedding is only months away and now jewellers have revealed how much the engagement rings of the royals are worth.
Although you can’t put a price on love the sparklers worn by the royal family are worth a pretty penny, and jewellers have estimated that Kate Middleton’s ring is the most expensive.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s sapphire ring was a family heirloom, which once belonged to Princesses Diana. When Prince Charles originally gave the ring to Diana in 1981 it would have only cost just over $48,500.
But according to the Sunday Express, inflation will have increased that value to over $173,000 and given that it was then used by Prince William to propose to Kate, the value has skyrocketed to $510,000.
Meghan Markle’s engagement ring on the other hand has been revealed to be worth about $256,000.
The three-carat diamond was sourced from Botswana but it also features two diamonds taken from Princess Diana’s collection.
As such, Michael Fried, the CEO of Diamond Pro, told People it’s impossible to put a price on the ring – “it’s priceless”.
Finally, Camilla Parker-Bowles features an approximate five-carat large emerald cut centre diamond, flanked by six baguettes in art deco pattern all in a platinum setting.
Prince Charles picked out Camilla’s enagagment ring from his mother Queen Elizabeth’s huge jewellery collection.
Grant Mobley, a gemologist and director of Pluczenik, told Express he estimated the ring to be worth about $288,000, narrowly edging out Meghan’s.
