Miquela is the latest Instagram star… but is she even human?

Instagram is a funny beast. Done right, it can show the perfect stylised snippet of life that you want to show. You can follow people and become so immersed in their everyday life, you feel like you know them.

So it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Instagram’s hottest star, Miquela is blurring the boundaries even more.

While she’s gathered 60,000 followers in just three months, it seems no one really knows who or what Miquela actually is.

She’s got the perfect cheekbones and luxe lifestyle of any Insta-influencer, but look a little closer and she seems more Sim than Kim in the reality stakes.

On the other hand, there’s photos of her posing at LA’s hottest nightspots and hanging out with actual humans.

WE’RE SO CONFUSED.

Is she a clever viral campaign? A social experiment to make us step back and question the whole Instagram phenomenon? Who knows.
