This beauty queen was stripped of her crown for the most bizarre reason

Just one week ago Genesis Davila posted on Instagram that she was "dreaming on a cloud" after winning Miss Florida USA 2017 but now she's sensationally been stripped of that very crown for the most bizarre reason.

The 24-year-old model reportedly broke the rules of the competition after she used professional hair and make-up artists to achieve her flawless look for the show.

Executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant Grant Gravitt told Local 10 News that organisers had received complaints from the other girls who claimed they had “substantial proof to link her and her vendors to her room on an evening which they were not allowed."

"We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules," Gravitt told Local 10.

"Whether it's something major or minor, it's all about keeping an equal and level playing field. Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that's just not acceptable in our system."

According to Gravitt, Davila made a "poor life choice" by inviting professionals into her room to make her up.

Davilia, who was also crowned Miss World Puerto Rico in 2014. may have also shot herself in the foot by posting an image to Instagram showing make-up artist ilde Goncalves applying mascara to her eyes.

"Working his magic. 7 DAYS. #missflorida2017," she captioned the picture.

Davilia posted this image to her Instagram page, showing her getting her make-up done by a professional, which is against the rules.

"This is not a good day for either the pageant or this poor lady," Gravitt said.

Since posting about her win last week, Davilia has been silent on social media and has failed to update her profile, which currently names her as the winner of Miss Florida 2017.

"We wish her no harm. We wish her no ill-will. She made a bad choice, but she's a very good kid, and we wish her the best in her career."

While Davilia has reportedly hired lawyers and is fighting for the decision to be overturned, Gravitt said there is no chance of that happening as once the rules are broken the contestant is disqualified.

Davilia's exile from the show automatically makes runner-up, Miss Sunny Isles Beach USA Linette De Los Santos, the new Miss Florida USA 2017.

De Los Santos will now represent Florida in the 2017 Miss USA pageant and if she wins she will go on to take part in the Miss Universe pageant.
