Kate Middleton photoshopped with a ‘black eye’ used for ad scam

Kate Middleton is known for her warm smile, poise and gracefulness so some may have been shocked if they recently came across a photo of her with a black eye.

There has been an image, obtained by Mamamia, of the Princess which has been making its rounds on the internet of her with a bruised eye which turns out to be an extremely misleading advert.

Even more misleading, is what was written alongside the advertisement.

It read: “Kate Reveals What Caused The Dispute” which would lead many to assume she has been the victim of domestic violence.

Because she is one of the most famous women in the world, of course, that would encourage people to click through to see what it was about but, according to the online outlet, you are taken to an advert for a skincare line with no mention of the so-called “dispute”.

The advert itself may be fake, but the product it leads to is very real. It reportedly leads to a skin care line called Junivive.

What is concerning, as the publication shows, that the advert was plastered over some major news sites giving an enormous reach for this fake news to go viral.

Another major issue with the advert it that it uses the extremely sensitive issue of domestic violence for potential financial gain.

Dr Lauren Rosewarne, a lecturer for the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne told Mamamia: “There should be no place for references or allusions to domestic violence as part of any marketing strategy.”
