When it comes to life as a royal bride-to-be, it’s safe to say Meghan Markle is passing with flying colours.

Not only nailing the prep for her May nuptials to fiancé Prince Harry with reports she’s chosen her wedding dress designer, but effortlessly taking to life in the public eye as she steps out at royal events - the couple seem to be taking everything in their stride.

But despite how quickly Meghan’s adjusting to life as a royal, insiders say there’s one thing that she’s determined to take her time with.

With all eyes on Meghan in the lead-up to her wedding, there’s already been speculation about when the 36-year-old might start a family with her new hubby.

Now an insider has spilled on exactly what the couple have planned.

“They are both are keen to start a family in the future, but don’t expect anything immediately,” an insider told Us Weekly.

“There is so much they want to do as a couple, and Meghan is really keen to begin working for the British monarchy.”

It wasn’t long after the couple announced their engagement that they began facing questions about baby making.

"Not currently. No,” Harry, 33, said firmly during his first BBC interview with Meghan after their engagement announcement last November.

“But I think eventually one step at a time and we’ll start a family in the near future.”

Prince Harry’s brother Prince William waited 18 months before announcing he was expecting with Kate Middleton in 2012, and insiders say Harry's family timeline might mimic his brother’s.

While there's no confirmation of when, there's no question of if for Prince Harry, who has always been vocal about wanting to be a dad.

“I’m a godfather to quite a few of my friends’ [kids],” Harry revealed in a podcast last year.

“Of course, I would love to have kids.”
