Young mum dies after buying diet pills online

A 24-year-old mum has tragically passed away after taking slimming tablets in a bid to lose weight 14 months after welcoming her daughter.

Lucero Priscila Garza Campos purchased the Avitia Cobrax tablets online, and had been taking them for four weeks when she fell ill.

According to reports, she was rushed to hospital when she began suffering from headaches and struggling to breathe, with doctors discovering she was had serious inflammation in her brain.

The mum fell into a coma two days later.

Her parents made the heartbreaking decision four days later to turn off her life support, with doctors declaring Lucero brain dead.

The Sun reports Lucero, from north-eastern Mexico, had seen an ad for the pills – which claimed to be made from ‘natural ingredients’ and boasted a seven kilo weight loss in 10 days – and took them for a month in the lead-up to her death.

The slimming pill company has since disabled its social media sites and gone to ground.

Lucero’s husband Marco Antonio González reportedly thanked those on Facebook who had passed on their love and prayers.

“[Social] networks have been the best… [people] have sent many prayers, lots of good vibes… everything is to give [Lucero] more light,” he’s reported to have
told Reforma newspaper.

With her family members warning others against purchasing similar products, officials say they are launching an investigation into Lucero’s tragic death.
