Krechelle’s tips are pretty simple, with claims they can save you up to $4000 by the end of the year, including her “absolute favourite” of creating an account for your Christmas savings, and topping it up every time you pay a bill.

“Every time you pay a bill and it’s not a round number, put the leftover change into the account,” she told Woman’s Day.

“So, say you pay $243.22 on a bill, round it up to $250 and put the remaining $6.78 into your ever-growing Christmas club saver and watch the dollars roll in.”

The 27-year-old, who has had six babies in five years, is also a fan of calling up your phone, electricity and insurance providers to get cheaper rates, insisting you can save hundreds.

Weekly and quarterly budgeting are also key to bumping up your bank balance, as well as paying everything on time.

“I like to make sure everything important is paid. And sorted. Before the due date,” Krechelle writes on her Eight at Home blog. “I know for someone who likes wine as much as me; you didn’t see that coming did you.”

The savvy mum also shuns credit cards, or swaps them to "no interest free" periods to help her pay them off, as well as setting a strict weekly grocery budget of $200.

When it comes to buying new things, forget impulse buying – price matching pays. Literally.

“Never just buy a large product. Ever,” reveals Krechelle in her blog. “Every single product I buy I price match the sh**t out of. Big W, Toys r Us, Bunnings Baby Buntings, Good Guys are just a few stores that price match.”

Krechelle also urges mums to do a good clean out, and put in the effort with decent descriptions and photos when selling goods online.

“Those baby and toddler pieces have to go,” she told Woman’s Day. “Total savings? $1500! You’ll be surprised how much good quality items are worth.”
