Shape-shifting ‘UFO’ photographed in South America

A newspaper editor in South America has put his reputation on the line by sharing images of what he believes to be a shape-shifting UFO.

Richard Emblin, the editor-in-chief of The City Paper in Bogota, Colombia, has sent the internet into a frenzy with snaps of a mysterious object he spotted in the sky from his balcony.

“I take my journalistic ethics very seriously,” he wrote for the paper.

“I do not manipulate my images. On Sunday, April 12 (2015), I stepped out onto my balcony, which faces East, and is located in the Rosales neighbourhood of Bogotá.”

YouTube channel Secureteam10 went on to share the images as a video, and they have since gone viral.

Richard is also a pilot and as such ruled out the ‘UFO’ being any form of plane, drone or hot air balloon flight.

“I know my planes. I understand these machines. I admire them. There was no fuselage, no winglets, no sound. This was no plane,” he said.

He went on to explain that the black dot unravelled itself before shifting on its side. He said it was very evident to him that it was not a drone.

“I could discern that the object shifted its shape. Could rise and fall quickly, and zip from one end of the city in a matter of seconds,” he said.

“The black dot seemed to have rings. It then tilted, shifted to one side, and disappeared.”

However, many have pointed out the ‘UFO’ in fact looks an eight-shaped party balloon which can be purchased online for a cheap eight bucks.

“Mylar balloons reflecting sun light are one of the main UFO misrepresentations, still fooling many people,’ UFO debunker Scott Brando, who runs website Ufoofinterest.org, told the Express.co.uk.

"It's a number 'eight' mylar balloon, you can buy silver and gold ones at any party shop. Some kid isn't going to be happy!" person agreed on Youtube.
