Crazy twist in search for Harry Potter proposal couple

An Aussie woman who accidentally photobombed an adorable Harry Potter proposal while on holidays has found the couple - and you won't believe the crazy twist.

While on a trip to Europe, Ashlee Hints did a tour of the Harry Potter Studios in Leavesden, UK, on September 22, 2017.

Enjoying the audio tour, the Melbourne woman took a selfie standing in front of the famous Platform 9¾.

She didn’t realise what was going on behind her until she looked at the photos later.

“So it turns out… I accidentally photobombed an engagement,” Ashlee shared on social media.

“With the audio guide in my ears and being truly snap happy I didn’t realise until having a photo evening with my folks at Christmas time.”

Since sharing her photos on various travel and Harry Potter Facebook groups, as well as her own Facebook and Instagram page, Ashlee has been able to track down the couple, and they are from Melbourne as well.

"They bizarrely live in Melbourne too, what are the odds," Ashlee tells Be.

"But more importantly she said yes!

"A lovely lady photoshopped a version of the photo without my face in it so I could give it to the happy couple."

"Over 1000 likes and 600 shares later, we found them," she tells us.

The newly engaged woman is believed to be Jade Darling. It was a friend of hers that reached out and contacted Ashlee after seeing her post.

“It doesn’t look like anyone was with them, so I’m convinced that someone will know someone that can identify these two so I can give them a copy of the photo (without my face),” Ashlee had written online.

Others were happy to help spread the word.

“That's so cool!! I can share on a bridal page I'm on has 12,000 members,” one person commented.

“This is amazing,” another wrote.

We love a happy ending!
