How Camilla reacted to Prince Harry and Meghan’s engagement
It’s set to be the royal wedding of the year when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot next May at Windsor Castle.
Now Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has spoken out about her stepson’s nuptials, revealing her thoughts on the union.
The 70-year-old was visiting Stoke-on-Trent with her husband, Prince Charles, when reporters asked her to comment on the engagement news.
Claiming she was "absolutely thrilled", Camilla, who has been plagued by reports her "meddling" was why the couple held back on making an announcement, was overjoyed by the news.
"It's brilliant!" Camilla said.
"America's loss is our gain. We are absolutely delighted. As you can see, they're so happy. Sometimes in a climate where we're surrounded by a lot of bad news, it's a real joy to have a bit of good news for once."
Previous reports by New Idea claimed Prince Harry was said to be “livid” with Camilla because she was throwing the announcement off by causing turmoil with palace staff.
According to The Sun, at least 14 chefs and kitchen staff have handed in their notice because they’re not happy with the working conditions.
Not only do the staff have to cater for the Queen’s demands, but they also have Prince Charles, Camilla and Prince William and Kate to take care of.
Prince Harry is said to be fuming with his stepmother and blames her for what’s happening.
“This is the first time he’s really gone head-to-head with Camilla since his mother’s death, and it felt good to finally stand up for himself,” a royal insider told New Idea.
