Her Instagram account is full of them, but Meghan Markle will have to put down the camera when she marries Prince Harry because selfies are banned in the royal family.

The 36-year-old Suits star, who is set to marry Prince Harry on May 19, is a big fan of taking her own photo, but her future family couldn’t think of anything worse.

Both Prince Harry and the Queen have voiced their disdain for the practice, with the prince even denying a teenage fan’s request for a selfie while he was on his royal tour of Australia.

He reportedly told the young boy that “selfies are bad” and to “just take a normal photograph”.

Meghan herself actually told a fan in Nottingham “we’re not allowed to do selfies” when she was asked for one, according to The Mirror.

And as for the matriarch of the family, the Queen has previously said she’s not a fan of selfies either.

The Queen reportedly told US ambassador Matthew Barzun that she considers it bad manners when people stick a phone in her face.

"She was essentially saying: 'I miss eye contact'," ambassador Matthew Barzun told Tatler magazine.

Selfies aren’t the only thing Meghan will have to give up when she marries Prince Harry.
