Mel C 'annoyed' by royal wedding snub

Mel ‘Sporty Spice’ Chisholm has debunked rumours that the Spice Girls were invited to the royal wedding.

Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa this morning, the 44-year-old shed light on the invitation snub.

“Well first of all, I should clear up the invitation part of it,” Mel said.

“So you’re not going?” Sarah McGilvray, who is part of the Fitzy and Wippa’s on-air team asked. “No,” Mel said. “We weren’t invited.”

Despite Mel B implying the band would reunite for the wedding back in February, Mel C admitted to the NOVA breakfast show that indeed, the girls were never invited perform.

“I was a little bit annoyed,” Mel confessed.

The Wannabe singer admitted that the girls do have quite a history with Charles, particularly with Geri Ginger Spice’ Halliwell pinching his bottom during a meet and greet and she and Mel “Scary Spice” Brown leaving red lipstick on his face (see video below).

Recently, Mel was invited to Prince’s Trust Awards and was involved with Prince Charles in another “lineup”.

“It’s always so nice to see Charles,” she said. “He’s a lovely, lovely man, and I felt like going, ‘oi, where’s my invite?’.”

Back in 1997, a very young and red faced Prince Harry met the Spice Girls backstage at their concert in South Africa.

Always having being a big fan, back in February, reports that the 33-year-old prince and his 36-year-old lady love are desperate for the Spice Girls to reunite in time for their nuptials spread like wildfire.

And while some people may have laughed at their request, the girls posted a stream of Instagram photos together after they met up in London.

Rumour still has it, however, that Victoria Beckham and her husband David will be attending, as they were there for Kate and Wills.

As for any of the others, we will just have to wait and see tomorrow! Fingers crossed.
