Mum’s inspiring photo of breastmilk goes viral
An American mum has posted an inspiring snap of her baby surrounded by 30 litres of breastmilk.
Self-proclaimed ‘breastmilk beast’ Nia Malika says that because she wants the best for her baby, she pumps breastmilk every three hours – even in the middle of the night.
She’s shared an image of her baby Nora surrounded by an impressive 30 litres of frozen breastmilk, which will allow Nia to return to work and school sooner.
Posting the snap to Instagram the mum said she makes sure her meals and snacks help increase her lactation – such as homemade ‘lactation cookies’.
“Over the past two months I was able to store away more than 1000 ounces of breastmilk for Nora to eat when I return back to work and school, all while nursing her,” she wrote online.

“I’m dedicated to providing my baby with the nutrition she needs, I trust my body and know this is what I was made for.
“When people say I’m lucky to have this supply I simple tell them I’m not lucky I’m blessed, and I work really hard to get where I am and will continue to do whatever it takes to keep my girl fed.”
The photo was quickly picked up by the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page and shared thousands of times.
The mum-of-two arranged the frozen packages around her baby in a heart shape – a growing trend online.
And while some women are storing the milk for themselves, others donate it to women who can’t produce breastmilk.
