The 36-year-old actress has already made a good impression with other prominent members of the family, including Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, however it wasn’t until last week that she was given the go ahead to meet the 91-year-old monarch.
According to US Weekly, the special occasion took place at the Queen’s Scottish residency, Balmoral Castle on September 3rd, after the young couple had returned from a romantic trip to Botswana.
The meeting may come as a surprise to many, as it is well-know that it took Kate Middleton five years to come face to face with the Queen.
The fact that Meghan has been fully welcomed into the royal family so quickly has once again sent rumours flying that a royal engagement could be on the cards.
Meghan recently opened up about her high-profile relationship with Prince Harry, taking the bold move of being completely honest about her feelings.
“We’re two people who are really happy and in love,” she told Vanity Fair.
Furthermore, the two are set to make their first official appearance together at the Invictus Games later this month.
Could this mean a royal wedding is in the works? Only time will tell.
