Frances Abbott suffers Oaks Day wardrobe malfunction

It seems Frances Abbott’s bodybuilding days are leaving a mark on her because she suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction because of it on Oaks Day.

The 26-year-old personal trainer is used to spending her days in a bikini prepping herself for contests, however the straps had clearly left a mark and she showed off some unfortunate tan lines at Ladies Day.

Wearing a form-fitting white off-the-shoulder dress, former Prime Minister, Tony Abbott’s, daughter’s incredible figure was on display.

She accessorized the look with a blush pink clutch bag and a pair of perspex heels.

“Letting the hair down, sipping champagne, not doing fitness for one day... Yes we do get dressed up,” she wrote on Instagram before she headed off for the day.

Her appearance at Ladies Day comes after she took part in both the 'first timer' and 'sports model' categories at the Australian ICN Victorian State Titles competition in September.

And while she may look toned and fit now, she revealed it took an insane amount of work to be able to compete in a bodybuilding contest.

“I weighed my food meal by meal for around three months,” she said on Instagram.

“I woke up at 4.15AM most mornings to do fasted cardio and I also had to become a bit of a social recluse to get the results I achieved in the amount of time that I had.”

However, she admitted that her competition weight wasn’t sustainable long-term and she would get “upset for not reason” or “be freezing” out of the blue.

“Currently I’m very lean. In terms of sustainability, in terms of hormones and just general health, it’s not an ideal place for me to be long-term,” she told the publication.

“You need to have body fat for your hormones, for menstruation, cortisol levels.

“I will slowly build my calories back up to a place where I can maintain a healthy body weight ... function optimally, have good energy levels, be happy.”

Now Frances is ‘reverse-dieting’ so she can put back on weight she lost purely for the competition.
