Meghan slammed over 'sexy' sheer Australian engagement dress

She’s been bending the royal rules since her relationship with Prince Harry was officially announced last year.

And Meghan Markle's engagement photoshoot was no different, with the 36-year-old posing in a sheer Ralph & Russo gown, created by Australian designers, for the occasion.

Kensington Palace released official images of the loved-up couple, taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House on the Windsor Castle property in Berkshire.

However, while Meghan may be glowing and totally in love in the snaps, some people aren’t impressed with her $100,000 designer gown.

“Not chic or sophisticated to dress in a sheer top for a royal engagement photo. 0/10,” one person said.

“Meghan Markle is lovely, but I’m not a fan of the sheer top dress for an official portrait. Doesn’t seem very appropriate,” another person said.

“All I can think while looking at the royal engagement photos is why did Meghan Markle dress like Poison Ivy,” a Twitter user said.

Meghan was also slammed for splashing out on the expensive gown, while Kate Middleton is always pictured recycling her old clothes.

“Kate's been recycling her sensible clothes for years and Meghan's out here in a £56,000 sheer couture dress,” oner person said.

However, others were totally in love with her gown, saying Meghan looked like a total princess.

“Forget Will and Kate. I am HERE for Meghan and Harry. I will now be following their entire lives. LOOK AT THAT DRESS,” one person said.

“Sheer, expensive, showbiz. Prince Harry's lass is breaking all the rules”, another person said.
