A Sydney shopping centre has brought the debate about underweight models back into the spotlight.

The Strand Arcade – located in the Sydney CBD between Pitt St Mall and George St – was advertising its ‘Evening with our Designers’ event.

But the model in the photo used on their Instagram account on Friday has drawn heavy criticism, as many noted the model was ‘too thin’.

“Model is too thin, don't support anything that mistreats woman by imposing unhealthy standards,” one person commented.

“Sorry but this is too sad. Too thin. I would not support,” another agreed.

Many were concerned for the unidentified model’s welfare.

“Honestly. Eat something,” one person wrote.

“Buy that girl a burger,” another added.
