Passenger slams ‘scantily dressed’ flight attendants

An Air Asia passenger has slammed the airline for its “scantily dressed” flight attendants saying she was left shocked by recent experiences.

Writing a furious letter to Malaysian senator Hanafi Mamat, New Zealand national June Robertson explained that she has travelled to Malaysia twice a year for the past decade, according to the Malaysian Digest

But a recent experience left her “disgusted” and she shared her feelings in the letter which has since been posted to Facebook.

“I have felt very offended by the extremely short skirts these females wear on Air Asia. I found it quite disgusting myself, as not everyone appreciates this,” she wrote in the letter.

June went on to detail different incident at Kuala Lumpur airport, where she spotted a female flight attendant’s underwear as she bent over.

But she was most appalled by another incident on a flight last October from Auckland to Kuala Lumpur.

“The woman serving us in the premium business class seats had her blouse opened and I could see the top of her breasts,” she wrote.

“I objected and asked her to close her jacket, as she was bending over us.”

It comes after three of Malaysia's airlines fell under scrutiny from the government over their 'revealing' uniforms in December.

Budget carriers AirAsia, Firefly andMalindo have all been criticised by politicians, with one even calling for an investigation by the Malaysian Aviation Commission.

Senator Abdullah Mat Yasim of the ruling Umno party, said in Parliament their “eye-catching outfits” could "arouse passengers" and do not reflect the fact that Malaysia's official religion is Islam.
