Troye Sivan always does this before releasing an album

With his various chart-topping bangers, movie roles and star endorsements from the likes of Taylor Swift, Australian Youtuber-turned-singer Troye Sivan has become a successful musical sensation in his own right.

As his latest album Bloom releases in his home country today, the 23-year-old reveals he still asks other musicians and close pals to listen to his tracks before they hit the market.

“I play the album to family and friends,” Troye explains to Be. “I sent Ariana [Grande] a few songs and a couple of other people to gage what they thought and thankfully everyone’s been really into it so I’m happy.”

Back in 2015 Taylor Swift famously tweeted her support of Troye’s music, a social media move that boosted the Australian’s fan base immediately.

“I would love to write with Taylor, that would be really fun,” says Troye.

“I’m so lucky to have met people as giving and generous as the people that I have and everyone’s just been so supportive. It’s an honour.

“These are people that I’ve admired for so long. To have their stamp of approval means the world to me.”

Another person Troye is a massive fan of is Ariana Grande, who actually features on the record.

“She’s such a legend,” he gushes.

“I’m just obsessed with her. I just feel really really lucky.”

Ariana features in a track titled Dance To This in the new album.

“I think she’s one of the best singers in the world obviously and to have her voice on one of my songs is just a real honour,” admits Troye.

As for his album as a whole, he hopes there’s a meaningful song in there for everyone, with the lyrics coming straight from his heart.

“It was pretty inspired by the love I was feeling in my life,” says the rising star.

“I really was in a good place, like finally getting settled and feeling a lot more comfortable and just happier in general.

“It’s really kind of a tribute to all these different things in my life that all seem to come together at once that made me feel like I was in a really good place.”

Troye’s album Bloom is now available in Australia.
