Carrie Fisher: First day on Force Awakens set was 'worst of my career'

Fisher, who reprised her role as Princess Leia for the J.J. Abrams reboot, said that nerves and pressure got to her, causing her to make 'mistakes' in her first 'massive scene'.

Her admission is made in the 70-minute behind-the-scenes feature that will be released with the DVD and Blu-ray of the movie in April, snippets of which are being released online.

"I’m the custodian of Princess Leia, it’s my job to protect her. It’s my life," she says.

"It was basically the worst day I’ve ever had on a film set in my life. Then it ended, and I got to go to sleep and come in another day, and it was better."

Abrams also weighs in, adding: "She hadn’t acted in a while, I think she was nervous going into this.

"To bring a character to life that you hadn’t played in thirty-something years, I understand how daunting that could be."

Newcomer Daisy Ridley, who landed the dream role of Rey, added that she was nervous too.

"We are about to shoot this thing and I’m not ready," she says.

Even Kylo Ren had the fear.

"I remember being scared of showing up on set and having no ideas," adds Adam Driver.
