Waleed Aly defends Carrie Bickmore on 'The Project'

Things got heated on last night's episode of The Project, when the panel began to discuss the war of words between Eddie McGuire and female sports journalist Caroline Wilson.

The co-hosts - which included Waleed Aly, Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar and Steve Price - were discussing the 'drowning' comments made my McGuire.

Talking about a charity ice slide to raise money for Motor neurone disease, McGuire said he would pledge $50,000 if Wilson "stayed under" the water.

During *The Project__s discussion, Carrie attempted to read part of an article Caroline had written in response to the controversy, when she was interrupted by Steve Price.

"Hey, how about you let her get to end of a sentence?" an angry Waleed asked Steve.

Steve wasn't happy about the comment, snapping back "thank you, Waleed for the advice."
