Where's Bindi? Why's Steve Irwin's daughter skipped the family's annual croc trip?

Bindi Irwin has always been front and centre during her family's annual trip to the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in north Queensland, but it seems this year the Wildlife Warrior has other place to be.

While mum Terri and younger brother Robert have joined volunteers in building crocodile traps and catching the reptiles, Bindi wasn't seen in any of the numerous social media posts as the group get their hands dirty around the Cape York Peninsula reserve over the last few weeks.

It wasn't until yesterday that the star was featured in a video about Croc Trip 2016 and it has had everyone wondering where she was!

One animal activist, who spent ten days on the reserve helping the family told The Courier Mail that they never got the opportunity to meet the 18-year-old.

“I didn’t get to meet her. She was in Tasmania,” the activist said.

As it turns out Bindi skipped part of the trip to holiday in Tasmania with boyfriend Chandler Powell.

The US Dancing With The Stars winner and her wakeboarding beau spent time on the Apple Isle before they both travelled north to join the rest of the Irwin gang.

An Australia Zoo spokesperson said Bindi had arrived on site earlier in the week.

And it seems Chandler is more than happy to get his hands dirty, with the American taking to Instagram to document jumping on his first saltwater crocodile!

"Cannot describe how excited I am to have jumped my first saltwater crocodile!!! Stanley was 9 feet 10 inches long and was last caught in 2013. Blessed to be a part of this awesome work," he captioned the photo.

Way to go Chandler!
