The Instagram image, uploaded on Friday morning, shows the 43 year-old, German-born stunner digitally 'swapping faces' with a woman who appears to be tennis pro Steffi Graf.

But even the innocent post, meant to tease the upcoming episode of Heidi's fashion show Project Runway attracted abuse from users saying she should 'Go back to Germany'.

The comments soon descended into chaos as others defended Heidi, saying 'Good luck with the wall'- a reference to President Trump's famous plan to block America from neighbouring Mexico with a wall to stop immigration.

Last year, Trump caused controversy when he declared the super model was "no longer a 10" after he was asked by the New York Times to rank her looks.

"Sometimes I do go a little bit far," he told the publication. "Heidi Klum. Sadly, she's no longer a 10."

Heidi retaliated by telling Yahoo!: "I've known Donald for many, many years. Personally I don't know why he did it. I don't know what I have to do with a presidential campaign."

And of her ranking of Trump? She said she doesn't have one for him, or anyone else, for that matter.

"I don't want to rate people. I really don't. Especially women. We do so much, we juggle so much stuff," she added. "Being a mum - having kids - working at the same time. Women are all a 10 in my book."

And over a year later, the blonde beauty is still preaching that statement.

Appearing on the front cover of Shape magazine in in a pair of navy bikini bottoms and a sequinned crop top, she reveals she is embracing her body.

"I'm now 43, my stomach has stretched in and out and in and out and in and out four times," she says. "

You just have to embrace it, go with it, just roll with it."
