Rob Lowe reckons he's seen Bigfoot

Many a person may have searched, but who knew it would take Rob Lowe to find Bigfoot?

Certainly not the 53-year-old actor, that's for sure! However Rob has claimed he tracked down the mysterious creature and even thought he was going to be killed.

The Parks and Recreation star has a new reality show alongside sons Matthew and John, The Lowe Files, in which the trio explore modern myths and in an upcoming episode share their experiences with the elusive Sasquatch.

"We had an incredible encounter with what locals call the wood ape, which is in the Ozark Mountains. I’m fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now," Rob told EW.

And while many might think Bigfoot is big and fluffy like this guy below, Rob said he was "genuinely terrified" by the alleged first-hand encounter adding: "I was lying on the ground thinking I was going to be killed."

You might be thinking "Okay, sure Rob, you "saw" Bigfoot", the Hollywood star goes on to explain that the creature is no myth to the locals.

"A wood ape is the local vernacular for a Sasquatch or a Bigfoot. [The locals] talk to you about the wood ape in all seriousness. If you call it a Bigfoot or a Sasquatch, they roll their eyes… as if that makes it less outrageous," he added.

"This is what I love about our show. We have fun with all of this. We hit the bullseye between true believer and skeptic in a fun way."
