Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic reunited
It's been weeks since rumours emerged that Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic were feuding after she called it quits on her job on Channel Nine's breakfast program Today.
Now it seems the pair have put their differences aside and put those rumours to bed, after being seen having lunch at Sydney's Cafe Sydney restaurant on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old took to her Instagram to post a snap of her with her former on-air partner Karl, captioning the pic, "The best lunch today with this guy @kstefanovic".
Fans were quick to comment on the snap, with one follower posting, "You look smashing Lisa, younger by the day and so happy catching up with young Karl too. Good for you. Hope The Project goes well for you", and another writing, "So good to see .. friendship forever".
It comes after Lisa made a public announcement that she was leaving her job at Channel Nine's Today show and starting a new role at rival network Channel Ten's The Project.
Her exit from the network after 10 years comes after speculation surrounding her salary expectations, with reports the 57-year-old demanded the same pay as co-host Karl Stefanovic.
"I have some news. I'm sad to say that today was my last day on @the today show. The following statement is from Channel Nine..." she wrote on Twitter.
An accompanying statement from Channel Nine read: "Nine today confirmed we have been unable to meet the expectations of Lisa Wilkinson and her manager on a contract renewal for a further period.
"We express our gratitude for Lisa for her 10 years with the TODAY show are disappointed we find ourselves in this position.
“Nine will be going in another direction and will be considering our options in coming weeks and months."
