Logan Paul calls himself a 'legend' in YouTube return

A month after his ‘suicide forest' video was heavily condemned, YouTuber Logan Paul is making his comeback.

The 22-year-old has posted a teaser trailer on Twitter in which he refers to himself as a ‘legend’ and a 'maverick' while spruiking a new video which will be released tomorrow.

In it, he appears shirtless, dirty and sporting a long, fake beard, in an apparent bid to mirror Tom Hanks’ character in Cast Away.

As dramatic music plays, a voiceover says, “One man… well boy… who was also a giant chuch”.

“The legend, the myth, the maverick”.

Logan faced global condemnation after one of his videos showed him laughing at the body of a deceased person who had taken their own life in Japan's Aokigahara forest.

He made two public apologies – after the first one was poorly received – and recently released a more sombre video on suicide prevention.

Speaking on Good Morning America at the weekend, Logan opened up about the onslaught of backlash he faced, and conceded it was deserved.

“It’s been tough because ironically, I’m being told to commit suicide myself," he said, "Millions of people, literally, telling me they hate me, to go die in a fire, the most horrible, horrific things".

Logan, who has 16 million followers on YouTube and made $15.6 million from his vlogs last year alone, wants his fans to know that while this has been 'the hardest time of (his) life', that suffering passes.

“One thing I’m learning that actually pertains to me is that crisis passes. Crisis passes man, and for anyone suffering, I think it’s important to know that," he said.

“You are not alone and for me, why I say this is important for me is that this has honestly been the hardest time of my life.

Although the vlogger has tried to put on a more serious and mature front, this latest video appears to be a return to his old antics, and his followers seem pleased.

“Omg logan we all miss you so much (sic),” one person wrote.

“Welcome back buddy,” another said, while a third wrote, “about time we were getting worried about you. hope you're doing well can't wait to see your Vlogs again”.
