Woman who dropped 90kg claps back against 'loose skin' shamers

A woman has hit out at body shamers who are pointing out her loose skin after her incredible 90kgs weight loss.

“If you had skin removal surgery, then why do you still have loose skin?”

It’s a question Simone Anderson has received countless times over the years.

In 2014, the New Zealand native tipped the scales at 170kg before dropping nearly 90kg in one year.

And yes — she’s had skin removal surgery to remove excess skin, but she says it would be “near impossible” to get a perfect stomach.

“Different angles and different positions make massive changes to your bodies appearance, while sitting slouched most people will get some form of roll going on! There is nothing wrong with this… embrace it,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.

Simone also cleared up misconceptions from people who tell her that she “must be so unhappy” with her body, considering she “still has skin on her stomach,” even after surgery.

“If you are going into a cosmetic procedure hoping for perfection you are probably doing it for the wrong reasons, I never hoped for perfection, I never aimed for it,” she said.

“There has been a massive improvement and I couldn’t be happier with my results, I love my body and always have! This body is the only body I have so I’m not going to spend a single second hating it.”

Her post received more than 12,000 likes in a matter of days, clearly resonating with her nearly 250,000 Instagram followers who felt encouraged by the “jiggly skin.”

“I stand in front of my mirror everyday and jiggle my loose skin and feel proud that it’s loose after losing 60kg (so far) and not filled with fat,” one follower commented. “I’d rather the first and I embrace that.”

Gorgeous!
