Thomas Markle had to warn Meghan about Scientology

A few months ago, ahead of her nuptials to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was baptised into the Church of England.

When she was younger Meghan went to a Catholic school but, like her mother Doria Ragland, was a Protestant.

In new claims from the Duchess of Sussex’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., revealed he actually to warn his daughter about the Church of Scientology.

The 74-year-old detailed in a recent interview with The Sun he caught a young Meghan hanging about outside a Scientology church in Los Angeles.

Thomas Sr. warned his daughter she would get herself in “big trouble” if she was ever to return.

However, there is no suggestion the former Suits star was ever considering joining the church.

In recent weeks Meghan’s father has been a hot topic in the media, with sources coming forward claiming he never underwent heart surgery at the time of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex‘s wedding in May.

“The whole story about Meghan’s father undergoing heart surgery was made up,’ the source told the Daily Mail.

According to reports at the time, Thomas was admitted to the Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, however when contacted by the Daily Mail to hospital said “no such name” had ever checked in.

Apparently he wanted to take the attention off the staged paparazzi photos, which had caused much embarrassment for Meghan.

“He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public,” the source continued.

“Don’t feel sorry for him. If anything, feel sorry for Meghan.”
