Sasha Mielczarek ‘saved’ Sam Frost during her 'darkest hour'

Sam Frost recently spoke about how online bullying took her to a “dark place”.

But now NW Magazine is claiming that it was her boyfriend Sasha Mielczarek who helped lead her back into the light.

“If it wasn't for his love, who knows what might have happened,” a source told the magazine. “Sash pulled her through her darkest hour.”

The 27-year-old, who met Sasha, 31, on The Bachelorette last year, revealed she’d been going through a tough time with a cryptic tweet last month.

She then opened up about her social media trolls in an emotional segment on her radio show.

"I’m sharing this story because I think it’s important for people who are out there, who are going through a tough time," she said on The Rove & Sam Show.

The former Bachelorette reached out to others who were getting picked on at school or by a work colleague and said that she thought it was time that we all think twice about the words we use.

"You just never know what’s going on behind closed doors," she said.

In the very emotional segment, Sam admitted that she had had a really tough past two years, but had slipped in to a particularly dark place over the past three to four months after copping a really hard time over her radio gig.

"Everyone was so critical and the media was critical and trolls were just horrendous. I was getting so heavily trolled; and other elements that I don’t even want to mention," she said.

"I was in an awful place, I was in a really, really dark place. I shut my friends out, I shut my family out… I would come to work and go home and I would stay in that dark, horrible place."

Her partner, Sasha Mielczarek, reached out to Sam and told her he didn’t know what to do anymore because all she did was cry, and didn’t talk to him.

"I said to him, I don’t want to be here anymore. I said I don’t want to wake up every day anymore," Sam said as she got emotional on her radio show.

It wasn’t until she said the words out load that Sam realised she couldn’t give up and needed to keep fighting. She realised it wasn’t fair on her family or friends if she were to give up.

Moving forward the radio host seeked professional help, and after her two week break (with a trip to Bali) she was in a better place. But on her return from holiday the trolls came back and were worse than before. They created fake accounts and talked to her loved ones, making up stories about her.

"It just all fell heavily on me again," she said, which is when she sent the tweet out.

"The best thing I ever did, was I admitted to myself and my loved one that I’m actually not OK."

Rove then gave some heartfelt words to his co-host saying he was sorry she had to deal with that and let her know that he thought she was an amazing person. He admitted he had been worried after seeing the "broken" tweet and likened it to the trolls that had targeted Charlotte Dawson.
