Harry and William can stop Camilla becoming Queen
With rumours swirling all year that the Queen is set to abdicate, it’s been revealed Prince Charles needs the backing of his sons for Camilla to become Queen.
Back in 2005 in the lead up to Charles and Camilla’s wedding, Clarence House confirmed that Camilla would be Princess Consort after she married Charles.
When the Queen eventually hands over the reins to Charles, it is thought he will need both Prince William and Harry on board to instead make Camilla Queen.
Sources however have claimed it’s unclear if they would provide that support as “they are not close” to the Duchess of Cornwall.
“He has little influence over the boys these days beyond the fact that he controls their money,” one of Prince Charles’ friends told the Daily Mail.
“But he’s so absorbed with his own life, with Camilla and the extra work he is accumulating from the Queen and his father, he doesn’t have the time anyway.”
Initially Harry and William seemed very supportive of their father’s second marriage, making positive comments about their father and stepmother when they first got married.
But looking back at her 70th birthday in July, neither princes said anything publicly at the time.
Reports suggest they have become less and less close to the Duchess as they’ve grown older.
“They are not close to Camilla. The relationship has changed,” a friend said.
It comes after it was reported in August that Camilla was furious with Kate and William, after suggestions that he would become the next king over Charles.
“Camilla is livid that William could potentially take the throne,” it was reported in New Idea.
However Kate’s alleged plans may have already been thwarted, as it was later revealed the Queen allegedly wants to abdicate and hand over the title of King to Prince Charles.
